Telangana Government's Order to AP Government

In an interesting move, the government of Telangana has ordered the Andhra Pradesh government to move out of the Hyderabad city. This is in view of the regulation period for Hyderabad as joint capital coming to an end on the 2nd of June.

A week before Hyderabad ceases to be the common capital, the office of Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) has been shifted to Kurnool from Hyderabad. APERC chairman Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy on Thursday inaugurated its new office in Kurnool city.

The decision to shift the operations of APERC to Kurnool was taken in view of Telangana govt's notice to vacate all buildings occupied by the AP govt in Hyderabad before June 2, when Hyderabad would cease to be the common capital of the two states as per AP Bifurcation Act. All APERC employees have been asked to relocate to Kurnool in the next few days.

Meaning, from the 2nd of June, AP government is not bound to operate the government buildings in Telangana as all these will come under the Telangana government's control from then.
