Vijayasai Reddy on Monday wrote on social media that the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, if he has the will to do it, can ensure Special Category Status for the State. The Rajya Sabha MP, who is also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism & Culture and the YSRCP Parliamentary Party Leader, stated that the Modi government depends on the TDP's support for its survival.
"If Chandrababu Naidu wants, he can easily get Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. The Central Government depends on his support and as part of the NDA, he can easily meet BJP leaders and work it out. With this political situation, all he needs to do is ask," Reddy wrote.
The post by Reddy is a clear indication that the YSRCP has strategic plans to exert pressure on both Naidu and PM Modi to walk the talk. The Prime Minister knows that the numbers from AP are important for his government.
Recently, the YSRCP sent out indications that the support of its MPs in Rajya Sabha will be important for the NDA government to pass legislations.
