In a shocking report submitted by the US Customs and Border Protection department, it is established that 96,917 Indians are arrested in the last year for trying to enter the country illegally.
Reportedly, 30,010 of these total tally of Indians tried to enter USA from the Canadian borderland while 41,770 tried to enter from the Mexican borderland.
These tracked statistics are between August 2022 and September 2023. It is also established that most of these people come from France to Mexico and then take a bus to reach close proximity of the US border area and then try to enter the country illegally.
Incidentally, 63,927 Indians were arrested between 2021-22 for illegally entering the USA and the count has grown by nearly 1.5X this year.
The report goes on to add that a total of around 20 lakh people try to enter the USA through illegal means every year. It is shocking that nearly 1 lakh of these people are Indians, as per the latest statistics.
