Bollywood star hero 'caused' Rs 25 Cr loss to Mythri Movie Makers?

Earlier this week, Ranveer Singh walked out of 'Rakshas', a pan-Indian movie directed by 'HanuMan' maker Prasanth Varma. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling it.

It has been alleged by a section of the media that Ranveer's sudden exit due to "creative differences" has left the project in limbo. As per a Bollywood media house, producers Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar spent Rs 10 Cr on just the film announcement promo. Another Rs 15 Cr went towards funding the pre-production. It is presumed that the entire money (or, at least, the quantum spent on shooting the promo) has now gone down the drain.

The figures quoted by the media are astronomical. Who on earth spends Rs 10 Cr on just an announcement promo? If the scale of the promo was that gigantic, wouldn't there have been news about it already in the media before it was shot or during its shoot?

The Tollywood media regularly writes news based on "sources" all the time. Just for a song, a dozen updates are revealed by these "sources". In recent past, we have seen how gossip went out about Rs 15 Cr allegedly being spent on 'Jaragandi' track from Ram Charan's 'Game Changer'. This gossip started doing the rounds months before the release of the song. In the case of 'Rakshas', the Rs 25 Cr figure has been quoted only after Ranveer's exit.
