Plot:
Three hard-core gamers named Gayatri (played by Niharika), Bhargav (played by Akshay Lagusani), and Anand (played by Harsha Chemudu) are vying to win the "Battle of Thrones". They have been so engrossed in the game that they even play it in the office. They neglect their personal life and only play games. Can they defeat the empire? What impact does this have on their personal lives? What part does Roshan (played by Sai Ronak) play in this? The remaining portion of the story centres on whether they will ever be able to lead a normal life.
Performances:
Niharika Konidela did a wonderful job portraying a gamer and a video game freak.
Her persona is more complex than just games; everytime she finds a guy appealing, she is also in need of satisfying her physical needs. She uses Roshan in the game to fulfil her desires, and she gave a nice, understated performance even in these situations.
She could convey all the emotions well.
Akshay was the star of the show. You will laugh in the show solely because he was at his absolute best. He did his role justice in every aspect, whether it was comedy, love, drama, or sadness.
Sai Ronak plays a handsome hunk who has an annoying nature because he is still an immature man. He took risks with his performance, although not a meaty role, he was fine in what he did. Infact, he was great playing no brainer. We must say he took a big risk by choosing this role at a time when people are just starting to noticing him.
Bhargavi plays the flatmate of Bhargav and Gayatri. She is someone who learns the flute, has a boy friend, and a nice gang of friends, celebrating every moment in life. As a playful, calm, and composed woman trying to bring about a change in her friends too, Bhargavi did an excellent job.
Harsha was okay; however, more comedy was expected from him. His character felt routine.
Rajeev Kanakala was seen for a short time. He plays the father to Bhargav, and he was good in his part.
Plus:
Casting
New concept
Cinematography
Music
Minus:
New concept
Lack of depth in content
Lack of emotional connect
Analysis:
Directed by Aditya Mandala, the series seems to have made only for the younger audience. If you are a gamer, the you will surely like and connect with the story. The plot is very new to the Telugu audience and not many can relate to the story. However, the attempt at making this was good and it worked in parts. Some scenes feel unnecessary, overly no brainy and stuff. At times, you will also wonder if you are watching some school kids accidentally got a job and are living away from home. For example: Harsha is too busy gaming, that another man (his wife’s colleague) begins to take care of his wife, kids and even roams around wearing his clothes and Harsha pays no attention. He is the least bothered. The characters needed more depth and a few more intense scenes to make this work for us.
Cinematography deserves applause. Frames, colours, everything was perfectly set taking you through the world.
Music by Siddhartha Sadashiv brings in that fun element to the series. BBC India and Tamada Media, the production values were felt.
Vox verdict:
Not everyone’s cup of tea. Watch it if you like gaming.
