True Philanthropy: Dr. M. Mohan Babu Fulfills Promise, Grants Free Education to Co-Director’s Daughter

Proving once again that his commitment to social welfare goes beyond words, veteran actor and Padma Shri awardee Dr. M. Mohan Babu has fulfilled his promise made to the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA).

During the Directors' Day and Late Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao’s birth anniversary celebrations held on May 4, 2026, at Shilpakala Vedika, Dr. Mohan Babu announced that he would personally sponsor the complete education of one deserving child from an underprivileged director's family every year at his esteemed MB University in Tirupati.

First Beneficiary Selected for 2026–27

Putting his words into action starting from the 2026–27 academic year, the trust selected Elipe Dedeepya Siri, daughter of co-director Sri Elipe Srinivasa Rao (TFDA Membership No. 2267).

Dr. Mohan Babu has arranged 100% free education along with full hostel accommodation for Dedeepya Siri from Class 6 all the way through Intermediate.

₹15 Lakh Medical Insurance Donation

In addition to sponsoring free education, Dr. Mohan Babu also announced a generous donation of ₹15 Lakhs to the Telugu Film Directors Association Trust to help fund medical insurance for its members—a move that earned heartfelt praise from the entire Telugu film fraternity.

TFDA Leadership Expresses Gratitude

On behalf of the association, TFDA President V.N. Aditya, General Secretary P.V. Rama Rao, Treasurer Neelam Sai Rajesh, and the executive committee expressed their deep gratitude to Dr. Mohan Babu. They highlighted that his continuous support and generosity will secure a bright, prosperous future for the children of hard-working film technicians.
