Independent research agencies have now confirmed that the alleged audio of Nara Bhuvaneshwari is not a deep fake one. Earlier, TDP chief Chandrababu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari’ alleged audio of scolding the people from lowered class communities is circulated on social media. Now, Deep Fake Analysis Unit which is an initiative by India Misinformation Combat Alliance has verified the audio through experts and said that its not a deep fake.
In a post on X, DAU said, “We escalated this audio to two of our expert partners for analysis. Dr. Hany Farid's forensic lab confirmed that the audio was not produced using GenAI. They used automated and manual techniques to analyse the audio,” the unit has confirmed that the audio is not a deep fake one.
The team further said that “Dr. Farid's lab also noted that a native speaker of Telugu who's on their team confirmed that the accent and intonation in the audio did not seem odd. They further added that they have not heard a GenAI audio that convincingly imitates strong emotions like anger/ aggression.”
The lab, however, mentioned that they could not comment on the provenance of the audio: where were these words said, who said these, and when.
