IIT-JEE examinations are against Dalits, OBCs, Adivasis: Rahul Gandhi

In a viral video clip, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi can be seen suggesting that OBCs, SCs and STs have a tough time cracking the IIT-JEE exams because the question papers are framed by Upper-Caste Hindus. He suggests that if Dalits design the papers, upper-caste candidates will fail. He questioned the idea of meritocracy in the video clip.

The comments have spawned sharp reactions. A Netizen reminded the PM aspirant that the IIT-JEE examination is entirely based on Western sciences in which no caste bias can be detected. RaGa's opinions are drawn from the Critical Caste Theory that is becoming popular in the US academia.

"JEE/NEET success isn’t caste coded but class and income coded. Because, it costs a lot to attend coaching classes. If a politician wants to address that by making coaching accessible to all, then that’s progress. Not importing the US social science theories to India without comprehension," a Netizen wrote.

"RaGa is now coming after the very definition of Merit. Every point he makes is about caste these days," commented Ajay Rotti, a BJP supporter. "These ultra left-wing policies, if implemented, have the potential to destroy India," another voter said.
