DMK to make anti-Hindu statements ahead of Ram Temple inauguration?

It is known that the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Ram Temple in Ayodhya is going to be held on January 22, 2024. Already, the Centre has started issuing invites to different political leaders across the country. Dignitaries, film celebs, sportspersons, activists, bureaucrats and religious leaders are expected to be present for the most-awaited religious event.

However, a few political parties are expected to issue anti-Hinduism statements ahead of the Ram Mandir event. The DMK, whose leader Udayanidhi Stalin recently called for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma, is going to be at the forefront of it.

DMK leader TKS Elangovan today gave the first hint of the nature of the narrative Tamil Nadu's ruling party is going to make. Today, speaking to a news agency, the Dravidian politician accused the BJP and the RSS of demolishing history (referring to Babri Masjid). He went on to describe the Ramayana as mythological literature.

He accused the BJP of making use of Ram's birth as a political tool. "Prime Minister Modi is not interested in Ram. BJP does not consider Ram as an important entity but their political gain becomes important so they are making use of Ram for their political gains," the DMK leader further said.

It has to be seen how the anti-Hindu utterances are going to affect different political parties in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As per ground reports, the BJP's popularity has been growing in Tamil Nadu. The party was nothing a few years ago in the state.
