AIMIM has always been accused of breaking anti-BJP votes in States like Maharashtra and Bihar. Asaduddin Owaisi, speaking at a public rally in Rajasthan's Jaipur, questioned the rationale behind the allegation made by parties like Congress.
Owaisi made it clear that his goal is to ensure that Narendra Modi never becomes the Prime Minister again. He then gave a further explanation. The Hyderabadi political heavyweight said that many supporters of Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot consider Modi as their hero. "My party is contesting elections in Rajasthan for the first time. How did the BJP win in the past in this State, then? How did all the MPs of the BJP win in 2014 and 2019? Can Congress give an answer?" Owaisi asked.
It is indeed true that many of those who vote for Congress in Assembly elections pick the BJP in Lok Sabha elections. Owaisi expects the "secular" vote to stick to anti-BJP parties even in LS elections.
Meanwhile, Owaisi has criticized the BJP's decision to revoke the suspension of T Raja Singh. "Modi has rewarded his dear fringe element. Quite sure that Nupur Sharma will also get her blessings from the PM. Hate speech is the fastest way to a promotion in Modi’s BJP," he added.
