'Jawan': Politically neutral or anti-BJP?

'Jawan' has been interpreted as an anti-BJP blockbuster by Leftists (at least those on social media). In their movie reviews, pro-Congress and anti-BJP media houses are unable to hold their excitement. Their fawning reviews are orgasmic about Shah Rukh Khan allegedly standing up to the Narendra Modi government.

While Leftists and liberals think 'Jawan' is anti-BJP (for them, anti-BJP is anti-establishment), the mindset of the audience might be very different. The perception of Leftists and liberals is usually different from the lived reality and experiences of the masses. The masses endorsed 'The Kashmir Files'. The Leftists hated the film. The commoners found value in 'The Kerala Story', while Leftists were sad that Bollywood was 'becoming pro-BJP'.

How are commoners viewing 'Jawan'? Just an escapist entertainer. Let's suppose that the masses believe that 'Jawan' is indeed against the establishment. For many who live in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is the establishment. So, 'Jawan' is anti-TMC in that case. The opposition and non-BJP parties are ruling several States in India. People living in backward States such as Bihar and Rajasthan might see 'Jawan' as a statement against parties like RJD and JDU.

'Jawan' raises issues such as the dire state of government hospitals. Health is a state subject as per the Constitution of India. Is 'Jawan' speaking out against state governments led by parties like Congress, BJD and DMK? Even in States like Kerala, many Malayalis have to depend on neighbouring States for treatment in advanced tertiary hospitals. So, is 'Jawan' telling Keralites to vote out Communists the next time?

If you see the bigger picture and take into consideration how people perceive the responsibilities of state and Union governments, you might actually see 'Jawan' as a politically neutral film like Kamal Haasan's 'Bharateeyudu' and Vikram's 'Aparichitudu'. Was 'Aparichitudu' anti-Manmohan Singh? If no, how is 'Jawan' anti-Modi?
