PM Modi says his government has tamed 'demon of corruption'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation from Red Ford, marking India's Independence Day. Speaking on the occasion, he said that India will be a developed economy by the year 2047. He exuded confidence in the capabilities of Indians and the country's resources.

The PM also said that India was ranked at No. 10. in the global economic system in the year 2014 when the NDA came to power. Cut to 2023, India is ranked at No. 5. "This did not happen just like that. The demon of corruption that had the country in its clutches has been tamed. We stopped leakages (in welfare schemes)," he added.

At a time when vegetable and fuel inflation has become a huge political issue across the country, Modi said that his government has taken several measures to control inflation and assured everyone that the effort will continue in this direction.

Modi also attacked the Congress party and other 'dynastic' parties, saying that dynasty politics and appeasement politics are destructive in nature. He indirectly projected the BJP era has an antidote to both.
