A violent incident on the campus of a college in Thane, Maharashtra, has shocked many. The incident took place on the premises of a college named Bandodkar College. In it, a male person in his late teens or early twenties is seen assaulting a few hapless NCC cadets (all boys).
The assault is so grotesque and humiliating that it is reminiscent of a movie scene from SS Rajamouli-Prabhas' 'Chatrapathi'. With the video going viral, the college has suspended the offender. An internal inquiry has been launched.
The outrage on social media is pronounced. "The red shirt should be charged with assault and proceeded against and made to bear medical expenses in case of injury to victims. The other senior students watching should be given a year back and banned from joining government service," wrote Black Book Shastri.
Shockingly, many Netizens were seen rationalizing the torture that is passed off as training. "Corporal punishment is part of the military and athletic subculture. If you can't take it, then stick to being a nerd and cracking exams," wrote Krunal Patel.
