In the year 2010, a shocking viral video surfaced on the Internet and was aired tirelessly by Tamil media. The video allegedly had Swami Nithyananda in a compromising position with Tamil actress Ranjitha, who had by then stopped playing lead roles. She has been the controversial Godman's disciple before and after.
A few years ago, Nithyananda fled from India and set up a Hindu country named Kailasa Island. He is its supreme leader.
As per a few Tamil media reports, Ranjitha has been appointed as the country's Prime Minister. If true, it is clear that her proximity to Nithyananda has only become stronger in recent years despite the sex scandal.
During the court trial, Ranjitha said several times that the video aired by Tamil TV channels in 2010 was fabricated. "I am not the person in it. At that time, I was in a room that I was sharing with another female devotee in the Dhyanapeetham ashram. I blame myself for this. It has affected my career though some people still have faith in me," she was quoted as saying by India Today in 2017.
If Ranjitha is indeed the PM of Nithyananda's country, we are in for a barrage of memes flooding the Internet in the coming days.
