Ex Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday stated that Chandrababu Naidu is using the Tirupati laddoo controversy to divert the public attention from his governance failures. He described the lab report on the basis of which adulteration charges have been levelled as a false one.
"The procurement process (by the TTD) has been going on for decades. The tender is won by L1 every time. There is nothing to be tinkered with in this standardized process. The supplier of ingredients like ghee is mandated to bring NABL's certification. Every tanker of ghee has to pass through this routine testing check," Jagan said.
"The test criteria have remain unchanged. The ghee and other ingredients used in the making of the laddoo have been consolidated decades ago," the YSRCP supremo said.
As per Chandrababu Naidu, it was a state-run lab in Gujarat that said that samples of the ghee from Tirupati tested positive for fish oil, beef tallow, and lard, which is a form of pig fat.
