Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu came to a conclusion before the polls that he simply can't take on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on his own. This was evident after he desperately forged an alliance with Janasena and BJP.
Now, Chandrababu appears to have lost confidence in his own constituency of Kuppam as well. He reportedly believes that winning from Kuppam is going to be a tough task for him.
YSR Congress commissioned a whole lot of good work in Kuppam in the recent years and the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself said YCP candidate here, Bharath will be made a minister if Kuppam people elect him over Chandrababu Naidu.
Now that the stakes are firmly against Chandrababu Naidu in his home turn of Kuppam, he has started to assess Penamaluru as an alternative for his candidature.
Penamaluru is heavily dominate by Kamma community voters and in accordance, Chandrababu Naidu has decided to contest here as an alternative constituency, say reports.
In all likelihood, we could see Chandrababu Naidu coming to a conclusion about contesting from Penamaluru as a backup option in the next few days. An official announcement will follow later.
