TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu was born and bought up in Chandragiri of erstwhile Chittoor district. After losing as an MLA from here once, Chandrababu left the area and moved to Kuppam, which is a safe bet for TDP in general.
Ever since, capturing Chandragiri has been a tough nut to crack for Chandrababu. After YSR came to power, he developed Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy as a firebrand leader here and the latter has been serving as Chandragiri MLA for multiple terms now.
On the other hand, Chandrababu is now finding it hard to even field a contestant in his own birthplace constituency of Chandragiri. TDP fielded Pulivarthy Nani in the last election and he spent a lot of resources on the same, only to end on the losing side later.
In this election, it is primarily understood that Chandrababu doesn't even have a proper candidate to field. Nani is seen as a losing horse and his resources are also depleted. Fielding some other leader in the last minute is again a tough job.
As it appears, CBN is already preparing to lose his own birthplace of consittuency, Chandragiri in the next election as well. This shows the kind of domination Jagan has in the Rayalaseema region.
