Director Sai Rajesh Neelam of 'Baby' and 'Hridaya Kaleyam' fame has something big up his sleeve. He will be making four films (either as a writer or a director or both) next as part of a 'cinematic universe' whose nitty-gritty he is still working out. Those four films will be added to 'Colour Photo' and 'Baby'. All those four films, like the other two films, will be love stories.
In other words, Sai Rajesh is creating a 'Romantic Cinematic Universe', a first in the history of Telugu cinema. If some or most characters from 'Colour Photo' and 'Baby' are seen in one or two or more of the upcoming four films, the possibilities will be immense.
Sai Rajesh hasn't been bogged down by the enormous hate and criticism his film 'Baby' has received on social media from Wokes and half-baked modernity warriors. That's because the social media chatter shouldn't be taken seriously when your film grosses a whopping Rs 90 Cr at the box office. It is good that Sai Rajesh and producer SKN are going ahead with their vision of creating four more "hard-hitting" love stories that probably might feature controversial characterizations angering faux feminists.
If everything goes well and if even two of the four upcoming movies click commercially, we shouldn't be surprised if other film industries (especially Tamil and Hindi) start thinking along the lines of a 'Romantic Cinematic Universe'.
