'Kushi' hit the screens on September 1. It had the last laugh at the box office on the first weekend. The collections were decent and the film would be entering the profit zone everywhere had it held its ground on the weekdays.
But the movie, as per latest box-office reports, crumbled badly on the first Monday (September 4). The distributor share on Monday in the Telugu States was just about Rs 1 Cr.
At this rate, the Shiva Nirvana directorial might end up being a flop. Distributors are set to incur losses more so in Andhra Pradesh than in Nizam. In Nizam, the film had a better start compared to AP.
The rains in parts of the Telugu States have been affecting the prospects of the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer negatively. The mixed talk on the ground is also to be blamed for the dwindled audience interest in the movie.
Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu (who is in the US) as the heroine, the film has music by Hesham Wahab Abdul. Meanwhile, the 'Liger' actor has decided to donate Rs 1 Cr from his remuneration toward charity. He will be distributing Rs 1 lakh each to 100 families in the coming 10 days.
