Actor Vijay Deverakonda issued a statement clarifying that the gaming app he promoted was a registered legal platform and not a betting app after appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Addressing the media post-inquiry, Vijay explained that he had submitted all relevant documentation, including his contract, bank statements, and financial records to the ED, who expressed satisfaction with his cooperation.
Vijay stressed the crucial distinction between legal registered gaming apps and betting apps, urging the media to help inform the public about the difference. He pointed out that platforms such as A23, My11Circle, and Dream11 are officially registered and actively sponsor major national sports events including the Indian cricket team, Olympics, IPL, and WPL. "I promoted A23, which is a completely legal and registered gaming platform," he emphasized.
Vijay concluded by stating, "Decisions about the legality of such platforms rest with the Supreme Court and the Government. I have acted lawfully and transparently in all respects."
