Eight years after the runaway success of the 2018 youthful entertainer Husharu, writer-director Sree Harsha Konuganti is back with its official sequel, ‘Husharu 2’. The production banners have dropped the film's official teaser, giving audiences a glimpse into an audacious new business scheme, accidental outlaws, and an unprecedented guest appearance by People’s Star R. Narayana Murthy.
Backed jointly by Caveman Stories, HK Films, and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations, the sequel is produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani, and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy serving as co-producer.
The Premise: India’s First Artisanal Agave Venture Goes Astray
Moving beyond the microbrewery exploits of the original installment, Husharu 2 catches up with the gang in the post-pandemic era. Having suffered major financial setbacks, the five friends band together to launch an ambitious enterprise: setting up India’s first homegrown, agave-based tequila distillery.
Their search for raw material and land leads them into the unpredictable hinterlands of Chittragunj. What begins as a bootlegged startup run quickly spirals out of control, embroiling the group in local mafia disputes, law enforcement chases, and a frantic survival trek through untamed forest terrain. The teaser balances youthful buddy banter with frantic slapstick and escalating danger.
