Meet Padamataveedhi Janaki: Ritika Nayak Joins Sundeep Kishan in Krishna Chaitanya’s ‘Powerpeta’
Following back-to-back box-office successes with Mirai and Korean Kanakaraju, actress Ritika Nayak has been officially revealed as the leading lady of Sundeep Kishan’s highly anticipated period political drama, ‘Powerpeta’. Marking the actress’s birthday, the production house unveiled her character-reveal poster alongside a special introductory glimpse, introducing her as Padamataveedhi Janaki.
Helmed by writer-director Krishna Chaitanya, Powerpeta is bankrolled on an expansive scale by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under the 70mm Entertainments banner.
Vintage Grace Meets Contemporary Charm: The Janaki Reveal
The character poster captures Ritika Nayak in an evocative, retro-tinted domestic setting. Draped in a cream-colored traditional half-saree with a peach dupatta, sleeveless blouse, and vintage jewelry, she is seated on an antique wooden bench, exuding quiet poise and classical charm.
The accompanying character glimpse reveals a dynamic contrast, hinting at multiple layers within Janaki's persona. The teaser transitions from traditional cultural aesthetics to sharp, contemporary styling—highlighted by an eye-catching sequence featuring an oversized shirt—signaling that her character is far more than a conventional romantic interest.
Production Milestones and High-Stakes Narrative
Powerpeta previously created substantial buzz across trade circles with its introductory video showcasing Sundeep Kishan as the fearsome Senapathi Ravi. The story explores an intense intersection of localized politics, family honor, and romance set within a distinct regional milieu.
Director Krishna Chaitanya has confirmed that principal photography is moving at a brisk pace, with over 60% of the filming already completed.
