Telugu industry has been seeing a wave of promising actors and yet another name adds to that list. It is that of Satyadev who is showing his mettle through versatile roles. This time he chose a subject which is rather soft and romantic. Whether he was successful or not, let us see

Story

Dev (Satyadev) is a regular IT professional and he is on a journey to Mangalore where he bumps across Divya (Megha), a chirpy and bubbly girl. He offers her a lift and due to Divya’s probing nature, he starts sharing his life story, rather love stories. In the process, he reveals about his school crush, college love and the more serious one with Amrutha (Kavya) once he gets into a job. That relation ends in a breakup and Dev meets Nidhi (Tamannaah) and they marry each other. Twist in the tale occurs and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Satyadev did full justice to his role and he was quite good with the varied aspects of emotions. He fitted the role very well and scored full marks. Kavya looked a little aged for the college role but she has the right kind of sex appeal and screen presence. Tamannah was a jackpot artiste in this project and she was underutilized especially in the second half. Megha was neat. Priyadarshi was brief but good. Harshini was alright. Suhasini was artificial.

Crew

The film was salvaged to a large extent by the background score which kept the momentum going. The visuals were good enough and it got good support due to the locales. Editing was shoddy in the second half. Action sequences were forced but alright. Not much work for art department but costumes were trendy. Production values were decent.

Hits

. Satyadev’s performance

. Background score

. Visuals

. Tamannaah

Misses

. Boring second half

. Predictable twist

. No elevation in emotional scenes

Deeper Look

The film happens to be the remake of the Kannada movie ‘Love Mocktail’ which came in 2020 and it appears that the director just attempted only a lift and shift process without giving it his creative touch. For love stories, it is very important to create that world, that mood and most importantly, that binding chemistry between the hero and heroines. The director failed to capture or present such moments. The initial moments of the film were rather bland and it is only after fifteen minutes one is able to get into the story. The first half had few moments of humor, the pace was good and the interval bang came at the right time. However, the main setback began with the second half. The twist in the tale was not something unexpected and once it gets revealed the director failed to evoke that right kind of heart touching moments despite having a platinum grade actress like Tamannaah. By about twenty minutes in the second half, the audience got busy checking their mobiles and some even dozed off. Few sequences between Satyadev and Kavya in the second half, Satyadev and Tamannah fell flat without any peak. Overall, the film failed to garner and it would certainly not appeal to the youth audience who expect something breezy.

Too Cold To Relish Or Even Remember!
