Movie Review: BRO- Feast for Pawan Kalyan fans

BRO is one of the most awaited as it has Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej teaming up for the first time in their careers. The film directed by Samuthirakani has been released today. Read our review here.

Plot

Mark(Sai Dharam Tej) is a sincere corporate employee who has the burden of settling his family down. But in a tragic car accident, he loses his life and he meets Time god(Pawan Kalyan) in the skies. Upset with his death, Mark requests Time God to give him one more chance to set things right. Well, the Time God not only gives him 90 days but also comes along with Mark into his life. How things change once Mark and Time God go back in time is the story.

Performances

Pawan Kalyan is a crowd-pleaser and he does the same with this film. The Powerstar is at peaks of performance as he alone drives the narrative. The charm, dialogue delivery, and screen presence of Pawan Kalyan are just amazing in the film. Sai Tej struggles to act in key emotional scenes but when it comes to chemistry with Pawan Kalyan, he is great. Rohini as the mother, Raja, Priya Varrier and Ketika Sharma suit their roles perfectly. But it is Pawan Kalyan who steals the show.

Technicalities

Thaman disappoints with the songs but his BGM elevates the film superbly. The camerawork, VFX, and costumes for Pawan Kalyan are very good. The editing is perfect as the film has a crisp runtime and does not bore you much. Trivikram's dialogues are not up to the mark as fans would expect more from him. The screenplay is very tight, especially in the second half.

What works

Pawan Kalyan's performance and the manner in which his old songs are used in the narrative are very good in the film. The fans will love Pawan in BRO and enjoy his stardom.

The chemistry between Pawan Kalyan and Sai Tej is very good and holds our attention for the most part. The manner in which they call each other BRO is good to see on screen.

The family emotions are decent in the second half and they hold our attention. There are multiple fan moments in which the audience will get entertained.

Samutirakani, the director has made sure that he does not disappoint the fans of Pawan as he has showcased him in a superb manner throughout the film.

What does not work

The emotions in the film could have been elevated a bit more. One gets a feeling that the film is rushed as there was not much time on hand.

The realization of Sai Dharam Tej should have been showcased in a more gripping manner. The family drama looks loud in a few scenes.

The relationship between the mother and son is not established well. A few scenes where Sai Tej acts like a father are stretched for no reason.

Vox Verdict

BRO is Pawan Kalyan's show all the way. Pawan Kalyan fans will love their star hero doing some mature acting and the usage of old songs add to the narrative. The families will connect to the emotions which are decent. The only thing one has to do when you watch the film is lower your expectations and just go with the flow and you will enjoy BRO.
