Hyderabad has, for years, embraced a vibrant nightlife. Recently, concerns about the police preventing the operation of restaurants beyond 11 pm have surfaced.
After facing public outcry and increased police scrutiny, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced a policy decision allowing restaurants in Hyderabad to stay open until 1 AM. However, to ensure public safety and order, liquor shops will continue to adhere to their existing closing times.
A thriving nightlife is often seen as a hallmark of a dynamic metropolis. By retaining extended operating hours, the government aims to continue to enable the creation of employment opportunities, attract tourists, and enhance Hyderabad's reputation as a cosmopolitan city. The hospitality industry, therefore, would be happy with Revanth Reddy's clarification in the Assembly. The government has also assured citizens that strict measures will be in place to maintain law and order.
