Former SIB Chief Named Prime Accused In Telangana Phone Tapping Case

Hyderabad police issued a look out notice against former state intelligence bureau chief T Prabhakar Rao and former deputy commissioner of police of Commissioner's Task Force P Radhakrishna. Prabhakar Rao has been named as prime accused in this case.

According to the Hyderabad police, the accused officers indulge in illegal phone tapping to monitor the private persons illegally. Thus they have abused their official positions. So far the police have arrested D. Praneet Rao DCP , Thirupathanna, Addl DCP, formerly Addl SP, SIB, and N Bhujanga Rao, Addl SP, formerly Addl SP, Intelligence Department.

Based on the complaint from D Ramesh, Additional SP, State Intelligence Bureau(SIB), that the accused persons developed profiles of unknown persons and monitored the same secretly, unauthorisedly and illegally. Panjagutta police booked a case and started investigation.

It is known that the phone tapping case has become controversial as it is alleged that the phone calls of the opposition leaders were tapped in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi rule, under K Chandrasekhar Rao.
