Barath Rastra Samithi(BRS) MLC K Kavitha who was arrested in Delhi liquor policy scam was sent to Judicial custody by the Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act(PMLA) court on Tuesday, March 26,2024.
Kavitha was under Enforcement Directorate(ED) custody from the day she was arrested on 16 March. The ED officials questioned her for 10 days in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. Initially the special court sent her to custody for seven days and later it was extended for three more days till 26 March. Kavitha was produced in the court after her completion of ED custody.
Further it is learnt that ED didn’t seek for extension of her custody. However they opposed the interim bail petition filed by Kavitha's lawyer and requested time to file the counter. The interim bail petition of Kavitha will come for hearing on April 1 .
ED investigation revealed that Ms. K Kavitha, along with others, conspired with the top leaders of AAP, including Arvind Kejriwal, to get favors in the Delhi Excise policy formulation and Manish Sisodia and implementation.
