The Congress party is at one of its worst phases in its history, with the grand old party taking a beating in most states of India. In Telangana, as the party that granted statehood there was an expectation that the Congress would come to power. The same hope was shattered both in 2014 and 2018. Now, the state is all set to go into active political mode as rumours abound of possible snap polls anytime next year.
The BJP is fully geared up to face the battle in its fight to come to power. Sources say that the party is actively poaching senior Congress leaders and at least five high profile leaders may soon join the saffron party. This would be a snub to the Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy who is still reeling from the loss of Munugode by election, which was a sitting seat for the party.
