As Wayanad death toll mounts, BJP supporters shame media over silence on Rahul Gandhi

The Wayanad death toll has mounted to more than 335. At least 300 are injured. The scale of human tragedy is saddening.

Meanwhile, the Kerala landslide has become a hot topic also for political reasons.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently said that the Kerala government was warned about the impending calamity. It was advised to take steps to prevent the loss of human lives. As per the Centre, the state government didn't do enough.

Meanwhile, BJP supporters are blaming the media for not grilling Rahul Gandhi, the MP of Wayanad. "I am impressed by the toe-kissing media that hasn’t yet questioned Rahul Gandhi’s performance as Wayanad MP. More than 300 people have died, and three villages have just vanished. And none of those journalists has gotten off their knees yet to ask the MP what he did for his constituency for 5 years," wrote Mohan Sinha.

Appearing on a national TV channel, commentator Anand Ranganath reminded everyone that report after report warned of a calamitous tragedy in the eco-sensitive zone of Wayanad. Yet, every report was ignored.
