The by-polls results held for 13 Assembly seats in different States have come as good news for the INDIA bloc, which bagged 10 out of the 13 seats that went to polls in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu.
The Opposition parties said that the verdict shows that the BJP's troubles are only deepening. However, the BJP shot back by saying that the by-poll results are not an embarrassment for the party, because, of the 13 seats that went to polls, 9 were not held by the BJP anyways.
"In Himachal Pradesh, Independents held all 3 seats. In Uttarakhand, Congress held both seats. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP won the seat earlier held by Congress. In West Bengal, the TMC held 1. But the elections were rigged, so it makes no sense to deliberate. In Punjab, the AAP retained their seat. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK held the seat," said Amit Malviya of the BJP.
