Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted interim bail on Friday. In his maiden political speech on Saturday, the AAP chief fired a salvo at the BJP. Kejriwal said that there is a provision in the BJP to retire leaders who cross the age of 75. Going by this, Narendra Modi who will be turning 75 much before he completes the coming term (should the NDA secure a majority in this election), will step down, said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal also told the voters that a vote for the BJP would be a vote for Amit Shah. "After Modi turns 75 in 2025, he will inevitably retire. Yogi Adityanath will be put in his place. Amit Shah will be promoted to the position of PM," Kejriwal said, suggesting that a succession plan is already in place.
Reacting to the AAP supremo's speech, Shah a while back told ANI that Modi will not only lead the country for the entire term till 2029 but also beyond. "The INDI Alliance knows well that the NDA is going to cross 400 seats on its own," Shah added.
