Indian Idol, the popular reality show, needs no introduction. The Hindi-language singing reality show has been aired on Sony TV since 2004. The Indian version of the British show Pop Idol has been a household name.
The title winner of its 14th season is Vaibhav Gupta. The singer hails from Kanpur. The winner, as per national media reports, was awarded a trophy, Rs 25 lakh, and a car for winning the coveted trophy.
Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury and Piyush Panwar stood first and second runners-up, respectively.
Season 14 saw the presence of Kumar Sanu, Shreya Goshal and Vishal Dadlani as the judges.
Abhijeet Sawant, Sandeep Acharya, Prashant Tamang were the winners of the first three seasons. LV Revanth, one of the prominent singers, won the 9th season's title in 2016. The second season, way back in 2006, had Karunya as the first runner-up. At that time, the show enjoyed so much media coverage by the Telugu media because Karunya hails from Hyderabad.
