Shocker! 'Congress won't cross even 50 Lok Sabha seats'

Recently, poll strategist Prashant Kishor predicted a clean sweep for the NDA in the upcoming General Elections. He feels that the INDIA bloc is on the verge of falling apart.

And now, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai has made a similar assertion by saying that the BJP+ could win up to 360 Lok Sabha seats (in the best case scenario). He also suggested that the true story of 2024 is not about whether the BJP will win a third term but if the Congress party can even cross 50 seats.

Sardesai, who is associated with India Today, usually doesn't speak out of turn when it comes to numbers. While his opinions are pro-Congress, he is objective when it comes to numbers. He is privy to the ground data known to Axis My India, India's best pollster. It is believed that Axis conveys its findings about the pulse of the voters to India Today's senior leadership before they are made public.

If the Congress party fails to secure even 50 seats, its tally will be lower than what it was in 2019. However, optimists supporting Rahul Gandhi say that the situation won't be that bad. "Certain sections of the media are writing off the Congress even though the party handsomely won Karnataka and Telangana in recent months. There is no need to believe in Narendra Modi's prediction that NDA will win 400 seats," a commentator said.
