App-based taxis from other States banned in Delhi!

In a shocking turn of events, the AAP government in New Delhi has imposed a ban on app-based taxis from other States. As per the Environment Minister Gopal Rai, the ban is based on Supreme Court's direction. "The Transport Department is working on a detailed notification," the Minister has been quoted as saying.

The ban on Ola, Uber and other services has become controversial, with citizens alleging that the AAP is resorting to arm-twisting for party funds. But it is the apex court that drove the decision, supporters of the Arvind Kejriwal government said.

Netizens are wondering if someone coming from non-Delhi NCR has to change taxis at the border of Delhi. "Idiot governments that can't stop stubble burning compounding misery of citizens," wrote an angry resident. The stubble burning menace in Punjab affects Delhi every year. No government wants to lose farmers' votes by banning stubble burning.

How will Delhi's IT employees commute to their home from Gurugram and Noida, a Netizen asked. After the ban, fares to the Delhi Airport will be sky-high!
