MP to news channel: 'Give me diamond necklace, take my interview'

It is known that TMC MP from West Bengal, Mahua Moitra, has been embroiled in the cash-for-query scandal. Ahead of the October 31st summons, the outspoken Lok Sabha member has been claiming, both via social media and in interviews, that she is innocent.

Today, Moitra joked that she demanded a diamond and an emerald necklace to be interviewed by Times Now. She posted a WhatsApp screenshot of herself being approached by an alleged Times Now journalist, who wanted her interview. Since Times Now is a pro-BJP channel, Moitra described it as a 'Godi Media' house in her social media post.

"I will give the interview only if you give me that diamond and emerald necklace whose picture you have been flashing all these days next to my name. That's my price for the interview. Go tell this to your boss in verbatim," she texted to the Times Now person.

It is clear that Moitra was merely joking and didn't mean it. "Modi and Co will soon learn that miffing someone like Mahua is a great mistake. Females of the species are more deadlier than males, thus proven," a Moitra fan wrote on Twitter.
