Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin recently likened Hinduism to malaria, dengue and coronavirus. On Monday, media persons asked Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for his opinion on the Hinduphobic statements issued by the DMK party leader. Far from condemning the obnoxious comments, Kharge actually supported the hate-filled comments made by the son of TN CM MK Stalin.
"In my opinion, any religion that does not promote equality or does not ensure you have the dignity of being human is not religion. Any religion that does not give equal rights or does not treat you like a human is as good as disease," he has been quoted as saying by ANI.
BJP is all set to turn this into a huge controversy, given Priyank Kharge is the son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. "DMK had made its thoughts clear about Sanatana Dharma. By endorsing the same insult and likening it to disease, Congress too has come out clean on where it stands on the matter. These are the same people who accuse others of bigotry while spewing such venom against Hindu Dharma. The I.N.D.I alliance will economically bankrupt India and culturally destroy India," wrote BJP leader Tejasvi Surya.
