KCR demands Bharat Ratna For Marathi poet Annabhau Sathe. Telangana CM KCR is trying his best to expand his party BRS in Maharashtra and make a powerful impact in the national politics.
KCR visited Maharashtra many times and once again visited Kolhapur amidst huge reception. His supporters welcomed him with the slogans 'Abi Ki Baar Kisan Sarkar'.
KCR went to Wategaon and paid floral tributes to Annabhau Sathe's 103rd birth anniversary. On the occasion, KCR accused the successive state governments and union government of ignoring the great poet. He said "While Russia had recognised Sathe by referring to him as ‘India’s Maxim Gorky’ and installed his statue in a Russian library. "It is regrettable that successive governments in India did not recognise Sathe and also did not take any steps to introduce his literature to the world,"
He added "On this occasion, my request to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his Cabinet is to honour Sathe, which would translate to respecting ourselves and respecting our country," he showered praises on the poet saying "As a communist and an Ambedkarite, Sathe continuously worked for the establishment of an egalitarian society."
KCR then tried to win the Matang community saying "The BRS will fully support the Matang community and will provide all kinds of recognition and assistance when the time comes."Earlier on the day, he visited Mahalakshmi Mata Ambabai temple in Kolhapur and offered his prayers.
