Chandrababu Naidu Neglects Farmers, Alleges Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for failing to address the grievances of farmers in Andhra Pradesh. Highlighting issues like inadequate Minimum Support Prices (MSP), unsold paddy due to improper procurement processes, and damages caused by recent cyclones, Jagan accused the government of turning a blind eye to farmers’ struggles.

He pointed out that despite weather warnings about Cyclone Fengal, the government failed to take proactive measures. Unsold paddy lies exposed to rains on roads, with farmers waiting in vain for buyers. Farmers are now forced to sell their produce at significant losses, falling prey to middlemen due to government negligence.

Jagan contrasted this with his tenure, where the YSRCP implemented transparent procurement systems, provided financial assistance, and addressed farmers’ needs promptly. Measures like geotagging of crops, direct farmer support via RBKs (Rythu Bharosa Kendras), and procurement of even damaged or discolored crops were cited as examples.

He also criticized the Naidu government for abandoning schemes like free crop insurance and timely loan assistance, leaving farmers in dire financial straits. Jagan concluded by urging immediate action to support farmers and demanded accountability for their plight.
