Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today said that humanity is his religion. He firmly hit out at the TDP-led state government for asking him to make a declaration at the Tirumala temple.
“The entire country, the entire state, knows my religion. My late father (YSR) became the chief minister twice and he always took blessings of Venkateswara Swamy. I read the Bible within the four walls of my home. I respect Hinduism, I respect Christianity, I respect all other religions. Humanity is my religion. If you want a declaration from me, take this as mine," Jagan said.
Jagan added that he climbed the Tirumala hills on foot before undertaking his Pada Yatra that spanned more than 3,600 km.
The YSRCP supremo said that the TDP and Jana Sena Party have been resorting to propaganda with respect to the alleged adulteration of the Tirupati Laddoo during his regime. He spoke of the stats concerning tenders to procure milk during his and Chandrababu Naidu's regimes. "Naidu wants to form a cartel so that his Heritage Diary stands to benefit," Jagan alleged.
