The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed to investigate the pre-poll and post-poll violence in Andhra Pradesh, had a field day in Tadipatri of Anantapur district on Friday.
The SIT is probing the details of the cases and the identities of the accused. Meanwhile, arrests are ongoing. Arrests continue in Palnadu district regarding incidents on polling day. Police are identifying the accused based on CCTV footage.
“More than 60 people were arrested in Palnadu on Thursday. It has been confirmed that 33 people were attacked with petrol bombs. The accused were produced in the Narasaraopeta court, and the police shifted them to Nellore District Jail,” police. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted interim protection to Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy in the EVM smashing case until June 5th.
