Marking an auspicious beginning on the festive occasion of Dasara, DRR Productions officially kickstarted its maiden venture, tentatively titled Production No. 1, with a traditional opening pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. Conceived as a dream project by NRI medical practitioner and philanthropist Dr. Damodar Nerella, the film marks the directorial debut of Shashank Duvvuru.
The feature stars Ravi Shivateja, Bhaskar Paramatmuni, and Subrahmanyam Ala in lead roles, with Neha Pathan playing the female lead. The project aims to offer a distinctive cinematic experience by weaving a core narrative of friendship, romance, and family values with gripping science-fiction elements.
A 26-Year Medical Career to Fulfilling a Lifelong Cinema Dream
Producer Dr. Damodar Nerella, Founder and CEO of the Indian American Medical Association (IAMA), has been practicing medicine across the United Kingdom and the United States for over 26 years. Beyond his medical practice and philanthropic endeavors—which include conducting extensive free medical camps in remote villages—cinema has remained a lifelong calling.
Reflecting on his entry into film production, Dr. Damodar Nerella recalled his deep childhood passion for cinema, fondly sharing memories of bunking school to travel to Warangal just to catch Megastar Chiranjeevi’s iconic classic Khaidi.
Speaking at the launch, he shared:
"Producing a feature film has been a long-cherished dream of mine, and initiating this journey on Dasara makes it truly memorable. The narration by director Shashank Duvvuru struck an immediate chord. The story seamlessly combines friendship, love, and core family values, while delivering an uplifting underlying message. Even though this is Shashank’s debut feature, his conceptual clarity and the script's strength give me absolute confidence in this project."

Debutant filmmaker Shashank Duvvuru brings valuable industry experience to his directorial venture, having previously worked as an assistant director on the Rashmika Mandanna starrer The Girlfriend, alongside helming the acclaimed short film Ulta.
Discussing the narrative scope, Shashank revealed:
"While the film carries the outward charm of a vibrant, light-hearted entertainer centered on three close friends, it houses a strong and layered underlying concept. We have blended everyday humor and emotional beats with unconventional plot points. Our goal is to break away from formulaic tropes and deliver an engaging, concept-driven experience to the audience."
