Andhra Police beefs up security, preps for counting day

Andhra Pradesh police beefed up the security following intelligence reports on the voting day. Special investigation team has been formed to investigate the poll and post-poll violence,

Andhra pradesh police connecting cordon and search in all the districts to avert any untoward incidents on the counting day. The police have conducted searches in 301 places and identified 1522 perpetrators in the poll and post poll violence and arrested around 356 members, revealed Andhra police.

It is pertinent to note that Andhra state was rocked with poll and post poll violence which saw hurling of petrol bombs in palnadu district and attacking of opponents in Tadipatri. Already the Election commission(EC) was serious on this kind of violence a special investigation team(SIT) was formed following the directions of the EC. Further SIT had submitted a 150 pages preliminary investigation report and intensified its probe.
