Usually, the opposition party in the state will have the opportunity to set the narrative for the election campaign, as was seen in the case of Jagan in 2019 where he came up with the Navaratnalu promise which propelled him to 151-seat victory in AP.
But in the case of Chandrababu's campaign for the 2024 election, this kind of narrative setting was missing and perhaps even non existent right from the first day.
CBN limited his campaign entirely to shout and abuse Jagan Mohan Reddy and not about what he would do to the state of AP if he gets elected as the CM. This is the kind of ideological lacking that novice politicians suffer from but a seasoned pro like Chandrababu missing this logic is beyond comprehension.
In CBN's defense, he had already served 14 years as the CM of AP, so he has a precedent behind him. If he comes to the public today saying he would do unearthly things no one would believe him anyway, considering his lack of credibility.
So effectively speaking, this year's election will entirely run on pro-Jagan and anti-Jagan wave. This is where Jagan is winning big time as there is no clear anti incumbency in the state.
