According to the latest analysis report released by the Association of Democratic Reforms, the opposition Telugu Desam Party has about 50 percent of its sitting MPs as billionaires.
ADR released a press release on March 29, 2024 about the analysis of criminal background, financial, education, gender and other details of sitting MPs.
Going into the details, while TDP has two sitting MP’s one of them is a billionaire, making it upto 50 percent. Meanwhile in the YSRCP party 2 out of 17 MPs are billionaires, which is a 12 percent.
Coming to the whole of India, out of the 514 sitting MPs, 25 of them are billionaires, which is 5 percent.
ADR obtained these data from the sitting MPs' affidavits from the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, to inform voters to make an informed decision while exercising their voting.
