Actor turned politician, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is going to make Pithapuram as a base for his election campaign for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Elections. Pawan who already mentioned that he would not be contesting in the MP elections, seems to be being careful to make his presence at least in the Pithapuram assembly constituency. In the last week on March 14, Pawan announced that he is going to contest in the Pithapuram constituency in Andhra.
There is already a lot of dissent in the opposition alliance of Telugu Desam -Jana Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party with compromised seat sharing and largely disappointing their party cadre. Earlier, TDP aspirant SVNS Varma was also vocal about his desire to contest from Pithapuram, however, Naidu gave the constituency to Pawan as a part of the alliance. So, while there might be less support from the TDP cadre in this regard, Pawan seems to fight it out alone.
Meanwhile, YSRCP has fielded Vanga Geeta in Pithapuram constituency, who has begun her campaigning already.
