Telugu Desam Party and JSP were hoping that the BJP will come along with them for the coming election season and even held back a few seats for the saffron party.
However, BJP has delivered a huge setback to TDP as they have announced that the party is preparing for all 175 MLA and 25 MP seats in AP.
Speaking with the media today, AP BJP president Purandeswari said "Under the leadership of the Minister of National Affairs Shri Shiv Prakash we discussed the political situation and party prospects in the state with the presidents and chief leaders of 26 districts for two days. We have prepared a list of candidates for contesting in 175 Assembly and 25 MP seats."
"Alliances will be announced by our central leaders. The parliamentary committee will review and finalize the candidates. Our next course of action will depend on the decision of the national leadership." She said about the alliances.
The very fact that the BJP has prepared the list of MLA and MP candidates for the coming polls all on their own could be a strong hint that they are against the idea of the alliance and are working on their own.
