Report: A look back at TDP's infamous alliances

The principle character that is expected from any established politician is the ability to run his party by himself and doesn't have to run after some other party for support.

But this character is completely lacking in the case of Telugu Desam Party and Chandra Babu Naidu. Earlier, it was Sr NTR who started the alliances trend when he was running the party before CBN took over.

Here is a look at the ugly alliances that TDP had formed in the past, only to break up later and start abusing their own former allies.

1983-NTR alliance with Menaka Gandhi
1985-NTR seat sharing with CPI, CPM, BJP
1994-NTR+CPI,CPM
1996-CBN alliance with Left
1998-TDP+Left
1999-CBN alliance with BJP
2004-TDP+BJP
2009-TDP+TRS+CPI+CPM
2014-TDP+BJP
2019-TDP+Congress
Historically speaking, NTR or CBN never contested alone with the sole platform of TDP. They always needed someone else's support to run their campaign.

And again, TDP is back with JSP and BJP(soon) for the 2024 election. But the fact that 40-year political experienced Chandra Babu is running to Pawan Kalyan and BJP to take on one man YS Jagan itself shows the kind of mass image that Jagan carries.
