On the very day of Telangana polls, the government of Andhra Pradesh and the police department did something unexpected as they blocked off a channel at the Nagarjuna Sagar dam. This led to a big discussion but the issue wasn't highlighted as much as it was expected to do due to the polling fever.
Now, YCP representative Ambati Rambabu has made an interesting statement in this regard and here is what he had to say about the same.
"The AP government has not done anything wrong in the matter of Nagarjuna Sagar project. Telangana police are staying in Andhra territory and we tried to alter it."
"Why do we need to take Telangana permission to release our water to our farmers?.How will there be an invasion if our police go into our own territory and jurisdiction ?.. Should AP take permission again and again from Telangana for our own irrigation?"
About the Telangana elections and the likely winner there, Ambati said "We are not interested in Telangana politics. We have nothing to do with who comes to power there".
