Denduluru has been a stronghold constituency for the Telugu Desam party for many years now. They had a sureshot MLA candidate in Chintamaneni Prabhakar who won from the constituency in 2009 and in 2014.
But in 2019, the YS Jagan wave swept Chintamaneni away and what followed was a horrid tale for him and also his close associates.
Chintamaneni Prabhakar came under legal scrutiny for the N number of cases that were filed against him in the past. He was kept in police custody for several days and later released. The process went on for many months.
Now, it has gotten to a point where Chintamaneni has decided to not even contest from Denduluru assembly constituency in the next election. He has decided to call it quits for this assembly constituency, it seems.
Prabhakar has instead decided to go for the MP race, leaving TDP without a candidate from the constituency. And in the meanwhile, the ruling party, YSRCP has finalized the ticket for the sitting MLA, Abbayya Chowdary who won from here in 2019.
TDP is looking to instead give this MLA ticket to JanaSena, knowing full well that they are anyway behind YSRCP in the race for the assembly, say reports.
