The government of Andhra Pradesh and its representatives have come down heavily on the Tollywood workforce. In particular, they have started to target the top heroes regarding their remunerations.
In a new development, the deputy chief minister of AP, Narayana Swamy has cracked down on the current generation superstars in Tollywood and he made a few scathing allegations on them.
"There are Tollywood heroes who make over Rs 50 - 100 Cr per film. But the issue is that they don't pay their taxes. They don't pay taxes for even half of their income. I don't think they are even paying their staff and workers with their legitimate income" the deputy chief minister said.
The deputy CM added that it is time that the bigwigs in Tollywood change their route and start to act in socially relevant manner instead of thinking they are above one and all.
This comes amidst the firing backlash from the likes of Kodali Nani and Perni Nani who have been going hard against Chiranjeevi ever since he advised the government to be focused on public welfare rather than stressing out Tollywood.
